That's a Wrap (almost)

Wow!  This fall season has really flown by!  I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is this week already!  My clients have been keeping me busy with portrait sessions and editing.  I still have a ways to go, but here is just a preview of some of my final shoots of the season.

I just want to eat this little girl right up!!! She has the cutest little chubby cheeks and what a smile!

I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  I will be eating turkey and editing all week (hopefully not simultaneously!)

Pumpkins, Siblings and Cousins

This is Laura and her family.  Or as Noah calls her, "Lor-la".  Laura is Noah's daycare provider, and we are so very blessed to have found her.  Laura always has a house full of children. Always!  Even when her daycare children eventually go home, she has two sons and a daughter of her own AND she is the primary caretaker for her two nieces and nephew.  She asked me if I could take some portraits of her and her large family, and I was very happy to!  This is just a small sample of the cute shots these kids provided.  Even her teen-aged boys had some pretty cute smiles and smirks!

Loved this silly shot! Everyone was having fun.

Little Jesus here is Noah's buddy, he can always make Noah laugh. And why not?! He has such an adorable little smile, you can't help but smile back!

What a good looking family!

Only two more weekends remain for fall/Holiday portraits and then I will be taking a break so that I can get editing and orders done in time for Christmas, as well as taking a family vacation to Hawaii!  After January 1st I will be back to scheduling sessions.

A Formal Affair

My friend Becca is about to be married in a few weeks, and some of her best girls threw her a wonderful bridal shower that I had the pleasure of being invited to.  It was held inside a rustic barn that they had strung up with twinkle bulbs as well as candles throughout.  The lighting might not exactly be a photographers dream, especially if you don't want to use a flash, but the ambiance was just perfect with the low light! So elegant and romantic, it really was quite the shower!!

Yummy food, and such fancy presentation! Thank you Becca
for letting me be a part of your special evening!

The funnest bridal shower game yet! A jeopardy game about the bride, groom and wedding details!

Loved this shot.  The bride is giving her mom a look that says
"Dang it mom, please stop gushing or you are going to make me cry!"

Congratulations Becca!! Countdown to the wedding! :)

Engaging Couple

Once upon a time, (2010), there was a fun, hip girl, who took time out of her exciting glamorous life to have lunch with a very tired but happy new mom.  At this lunch, this girl proceeded to tell this mom that she had recently started dating a boy who was kind, and sensitive, and had good values.  This girl was excited to see where this relationship with the new boy would go.  Fast forward to Fourth of July, 2011, and that same girl received a proposal from the "new" boy that she could not turn down.

My friend Alex is more like a little sister to me. She is the girl from my story above, and if you haven't already guessed it, I am the mom.  We grew up living next door to each other, and even though she is six years younger than me, we have always managed to stay good friends (even when she rushed Phi Mu instead of my sorority ha ha).   I have watched her break hearts, and I have seen the aftermath of her own heart breaks.  When she first told me about Justin back at that lunch, I honestly didn't think much of it.  I thought, he seems nice, but will probably be out of the picture in a few months. But instead, he has just become more of a constant support in her life.  They are very real with each other, and very happy together, which you can tell in their photos.  I am so excited for them and this next journey they are taking together!

Happy Engagement Alex and Justin!!

Fall Special!

I just love Fall!  There is nothing about it I don't like.  I love crunching leaves, and shorter days, and cooler nights, and pumpkin spice lattes, and football, and blankets, and sweaters, and the burnt orange and red colors....I just love it all!  So I thought I would spread my love of fall to all of you!

If you book a session with me by September 30th, I will include a complimentary 5x7 print! Your sesssion can be any time between now and Thanksgiving.  You just have to book it (pay half of the session fee) before 9/30/11 in order to get the special.

My weekends are filling up, so if you are interested in taking family portraits in time for Christmas cards, you should book your session as early as possible.

The Soares Family

There are a few friends that you have for your lifetime, and Corinne is one of mine.
Her and her family came to the beach for a little visit and I was happy to take some family photos for them.  Her kids are so cute and well-behaved even though I know she might disagree sometimes.
Her son and my little guy had fun being boys and chasing after birds.  But her daughter
was happy to ham it up and strike a pose for me.  See? Adorable!

Fall Family Fun

I have known the Kelley Family for, well, since before there was a Kelley Family!  Bree and I were pledge sisters back in college and luckily for me we have been able to remain friends this past decade.  I photographed her and her family for their Christmas cards last fall.  She told me she got lots of compliments on her cards, and I think she said this to me as an indication of the quality of my photographs.  But I think she received so many compliments because her daughters are so adorable!

See what you think:

Little Hands and Feet

Eighteen months ago my son was this tiny newborn.  I can hardly believe it now to look at him as a toddler.  You never really know how fast time flies or how quickly things change until you become a parent! I am so happy I have these photographs of him in those first few days of life.

And welcome to my photography website! This is the first post in what I hope will be a new chapter in my life.
